3D laser scanning

Using a Faro arm with laser scan head enables part shapes to be very accurately digitally captured.

The equipment is portable - we have used ours in Japan and USA - so scans can be done at customers' premises. We use it mainly to capture the shape information of vehicles - the digital scan is processed using Geomagic Studio software so the information can be used in a CAD system. This is one of the reasons our parts fit so well - the shapes are accurately transferred to CAD with none of the distortion and shrinkage common with traditional methods of getting the information (ie. wet layup splashes).
